چکیده

Abstract We demonstrate the fabrication of a new DNA sensor that is based on optical interactions occurring between oligonucleotide-coated NaYF 4 :Yb 3+ ;Er upconversion nanoparticles and two-dimensional dichalcogenide materials, MoS 2 WS . Monodisperse were functionalized with single-stranded endowing ability to interact surface materials via van der Waals leading subsequent quenching fluorescence. By contrast, in presence complementary oligonucleotide target formation double-stranded DNA, could not , thus retaining their inherent fluorescence properties. Utilizing this we able detect oligonucleotides high sensitivity specificity whilst reaching concentration detection limit as low 5 mol·L −1 within minutes.

Design and simulation of a pressure sensor based on a two dimensional photonic crystal slab of PbMoO4

In this paper the design and three dimensions (3D) simulation of a photonic crystal (PC) pressure sensor is presented. The device is based on a 2D PC slab of PbMoO4. The simulations are based on finite element method (FEM) and finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method and are done using CST STUDIO SUITE software. The sensitivity of the proposed sensor is calculated by considering the deformat...

Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) nanosheets.

This special issue is about two-dimensional transitionmetal dichalcogenides (2DTMDs), a family of materials consisting of over 40 compounds with the generalized formula of MX2, where M is a transition metal typically from groups 4–7, and X is a chalcogen such as S, Se or Te. Bulk TMDs have been widely studied over several decades because it is possible to formulate compounds with disparate elec...

Oligonucleotide Sensor Based on Selective Capture of Upconversion Nanoparticles Triggered by Target-Induced DNA Interstrand Ligand Reaction

We present a sensor that exploits the phenomenon of upconversion luminescence to detect the presence of specific sequences of small oligonucleotides such as miRNAs among others. The sensor is based on NaYF4:Yb,Er@SiO2 nanoparticles functionalized with ssDNA that contain azide groups on the 3' ends. In the presence of a target sequence, interstrand ligation is possible via the click-reaction bet...

Understanding catalysis in a multiphasic two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenide

Establishing processing-structure-property relationships for monolayer materials is crucial for a range of applications spanning optics, catalysis, electronics and energy. Presently, for molybdenum disulfide, a promising catalyst for artificial photosynthesis, considerable debate surrounds the structure/property relationships of its various allotropes. Here we unambiguously solve the structure ...
